E-learning and E-training

  Adaptive learning, or adaptive teaching, is an educational method which uses computers to interact with the learner and deliver customized resources and learning activities to address the unique needs of each learner. Computers adapt the presentation of educational material according to students' learning needs, as indicated by their responses to questions, tasks and experiences.  Adaptive learning has been partially driven by a realization that tailored learning cannot be achieved on a large-scale using traditional, non-adaptive approaches.  Adaptive learning systems endeavour to transform the learner from passive receptor of information to collaborator in the educational process. They have been designed as desktop computer applications, web applications, and are now being introduced into overall curricula.

   It is the branch of knowledge concerned with research and theory about instructional strategies . In addition to that, it is the process of developing and implementing interactive activities through determining the current state and needs of the learner, defining the end goal of instruction, and creating some interventions to assist in the transition.
